Yes, Copy is different than transfer they maybe dont want to let their vanilla server empty and do the same mistake than feenix warsong

it's literally stock mangos right now, do not expect anything good when the PTR opens, neither expect the TBC realm to come soon

Even if the current timeline will not be changed in the future, and we get Naxx before 30.09.2016, there should be at least 5-6 months gap between opening a TBC server and closing all Vanilla content.
So, expecting TBC realm earlier than february-march 2017 is just stupid.
PS all my calculations were based on PERFECT timing and conditions, and incredible success of open development for TBC server. Usually, reality is harsh.

Okay, time to clarify few things again since there seem to be many questions.

1. "Can I change faction, name, class, appearance during the switch from vanilla to tbc?"

No. We have no plans on allowing anything like this and it would be a massive extra workload that would have to be done ostly manually.

What if someone takes my character name on TBC server before I transfer my character to there?

I'am guessing they'll have a locked period where characters you copy from the specific PvE or PvP server have a priority for names. Would be silly otherwise.
