How's that fair to those people?.

Alright, listen up because I'm so fucking tired of hearing this garbage argument.

A. The nost devs weren't idiots. When they announced that the server was going down, it WAS NOT hard to predict that there would be mass chaos. They will almost definitely use a pre-announcement backup if they decide to come back.

B. If you fucking deleted your characters or vendored your gear, you are an idiot and you deserve it. Especially if you deleted your main. There's literally NO REASON AT ALL TO DO THAT except to say you did. Handing out gold is understandable, but it's not the end of the world if you have to a little farming.

Honestly, you're incredibly selfish if you think everyone should have to start fresh. If you want your own separate fresh server, I'm fine with that, but what makes you okay with telling tens of thousands of people that their time is unimportant because they played Nost before you did, or because you are okay with throwing your own progress away?

I promise, if they release both old and fresh servers, there WILL be enough people on both. This whole legacy server thing has generated so much publicity for Nost that the fresh servers would probably be OVERPOPULATED even without the original players who are willing to start over.

And for the record, I'm 60 on Kronos, and I wouldn't touch Nost with a 10 foot stick if they started it all over.

Take a chill pill. I didn't say we should, I said I prefer a fresh start. And that's my opinion.
And no, you can't really blame people handing out gold for the fun and lols before it got shutdown.

I understand where you're coming from but I prefer a fresh start or just release a new server. Never said it *should* be a wipe out. L2read.

I mean, it's hard to tell what you think should happen when your post only criticized the idea of using the old database and said nothing at all about what you think should happen.

But you're right, it's your own opinion, and if your opinion is that there shouldn't be a complete restart, then disregard my post. However, I'm seeing too many people who are totally fine with the idea of a complete restart, and I hope to change as many of those people's minds as I can. It really triggers me when people use that particular "what about people who deleted their stuff" argument, because it only adds to that problem when it's not even a real issue.

This is the best post I've seen here so far. I agree. If people were to dumb that they deleted their chars and gave away their gold, they ARE infact idiots and deserve to be treated as such. Nost-admins were even throwing around the idea of giving away the database to other private server projects, so why would ANY sane person delete all their progress then?

excellent post

+1

period

so obvious ... but it's incredible that this argument must be endlessly repeated in order that closed-minded people understand it

If you deleted your char you should start over on fresh server. Doesn't mean smarter people should be doomed to the same fate. If you deleted gear, gave away gold for "lulz" then you had "lulz" so thats your reward hur dur :P

Just going to say:

if you guys think for one second Nostralius is going back up with the old account database you're just flat out wrong.

It'll be a fresh start due to the increased popularity of Nostralius, and it'll likely again just be one server to start off with.

...and a "vet server" is also a dumb idea...it splits up the community..

...at least in the beginning, they'll want to reignite the feeling of the old nostralius, then later on they'll release a PVE server again.

I'm sure there's things they want to do better or have improved since last launch.
