Sounds more like an argument from someone who cant stand to lose their polygon clump they have invested much time into. I think 2 servers could work but would be expensive. I guess you never considered what would make the most sense in terms of healthy server.

You need to consider that wipe would shrug a lot of old core (that rerolled to other servers aka kronos or elysium or even tbc looking4group but always considered those places a lobby till nostalrius relaunch or legacy) that fought bravely for this community over time and made this community. I would consider it healthy to have a mix of old players with old database and a flow of fresh dedicated players that are up to play a catch up game being carried in entry level raids, don't you think? For me its not healthy to wipe the server that got closed due to CnD letter. Its way more borderline, heavily punishing old dedicated players and slightly favoring new people.

It also creates a harmful principle that tells people that its not worth to invest time and energy in premium vanilla feats like farming ranks, or grinding for legendaries because if server gets to have a prolonged downtime due to various reason a best way to resurrect it is via wipe. Thats just idiotic to me personally and if it came to happen and I was to make unbiased review based on that i'd say to everyone "go on play there but approach it casually or just raid log cause its rather thin ice there"

I'd like you to adress that if sense of fairness and server health is the subject.

I started playing on nost a few weeks before bwl came out. I did not have the problem to catch up. My rogue was bis geared when nost went down and i had a very good amount of gold so i can't understand people who think a restart would be fair or makes the server more healthy. I invested a lot of time to catch up but its fucking vanilla. This is how it works.
