240.000 people asking for wow legacy servers!

Dear supporters,

First, we would like to thank you for being part of the 240,000 players who answered the call for legacy servers, on behalf of the whole gaming community.

Two weeks ago, the Nostalrius World of Warcraft vanilla journey came to an end upon Blizzard’s request. This petition was initiated to demonstrate the need for legacy servers and the number of players that were willing to see this occur: we were not a minority!
World of warcraft famous streamers and youtubers joined the call. Sodapoppin, JonTron, Boogie2988, LinusTechTips, The_Lazy_Peon, WowKungen and many others who used to play on Nostalrius.

Today, the proposition of Blizzard’s own legacy servers for WoW is being actively requested by the gaming community. Multiple well known gaming media outlets (Kotaku, PC Gamer, PC Games, Millenium, Motherboard among many others) covered the story.

Generalist press agencies and newspapers from around the world also addressed their concerns for the preservation of online games for future generations. Forbes, Ars Technica, the FAZ, the BBC … decided that this petition and the questions raised transcended the gaming communities to be global society questions.

Last week, the former World of Warcraft Blizzard team leader himself, Mark Kern, decided to support this special request from the gaming community, and to write a letter to Mike Morhaime, his former boss and current Blizzard CEO.

Moreover, dozens of famous streamers answered Sodapoppin’s call and would actively support or stream official legacy servers!

Together, we proved that the gaming community is a large family willing to ensure the freedom to choose your entertainment.

As the gaming community unites in the call for legacy realms, Blizzard, now more than ever, has the opportunity to bring back their original World of Warcraft servers as they were then!

Lately, J. Allen Brack, the Vice-President of World of Warcraft, wrote a letter to the community about Blizzard’s thoughts regarding legacy servers. The most important part is that they are listening to the community and are willing to discuss with Nostalrius. We have our legitimacy from this community, from you through this petition, and thus we will keep you informed about further discussion or information we have as soon as possible.


The adventure continues, spread the petition, speak up! You shall not have regrets: today, your past memories and nostalgia can open the way to an exciting future for everyone!

I really admire you guys. I know how hard you have been working on Nostalrius since 2010 to provide the awesome gaming experience we got to enjoy during our time in the server and I just can't imagine your frustration when you got to know Blizzard had sued you. For this reason, I wanna say "thank you" to each of you for trying to make legacy servers happen despite knowing that Nost won't come back. We're in this together until the end, win or lose.

I spread the petition every where I can. I talked to my friends, and 4 of them who played WoW already signed it. We are a community. By working together, we will make Blizzard kneels. I feel so much fear in the Allen Brack's answer. They can't control us, and now they know that. They can't ignore us anymore.
