So I picked a Warlock, and I am starting to regret my choice

Hello I have never played vanilla before and thought it'd be fun to play something that I haven't played in retail, Warlock on Alliance side. Was fun and all up until 30 where open world pvp began. I feel that I get hard countered by every single class, especially by Undeads. Is there anything I can do or is it a dead end for PvP when playing Warlock on Alliance?

And to add if against a Undead it's GG.

Against Warrior = Fear & Charm Immune. All I have to use is Death Coil that lasts for 3 sec in before a Intercept and Hamstring gets on me.
Against Hunter = GG Interrupt.
Against Mage = Silence, Ice Block stops my DoTs really hard.
Against Priest my Affliction leveling build doesn't do shit because of Dispel Magic, I have yet to see if Destruction makes me beat them in 60 or if I will still lose. Nontheless Undead Priest = GG.
Against Druids and Shamans I don't know, haven't seen many of them.

Well playing a warlock in vanilla in terms of pvp sure is a challenge because basicly most of your opponents are undeads. First of all during leveling i wouldnt throw the "omg its such a bad class" tag just yet. Actually more later into lvl 60 when your gear level is going up at certain points your opponents will die to dots alone.
In my opinion while maybe not the strongest pvp class (imo spriest/mage/rogue share that place) they are still to fear for good reason and played well devastating.

You wont kill your opponents during a fear duration like most Horde Locks are going to (nice to be able to chainfear shit). You need to either burst them down quickly or outsustain them.
First of ... what race did you pick ? I guess it's a Human?

Well gnome race is my take here which allows you to not get slowed/rooted down and being prevented from kiting your enemys.

Basicly against any meele using means to keep them off you or reducing their dmg is key. Voidwalker + Demo pvp specc and you recieve almost 40 % less dmg as example.

Against Warriors : Make sure you send your pet in before he is in range or whatever means you have to get him into the combat state -> now he only has one gapcloser left where you will just be able to get rid of with deathcoil when he uses it. From there you will dot the fucker up and only cast spells when he is not able to get in range .. else kite him.

If you have major issues ... use your voidwalker shield ... nothing makes warriors more annoyed than not gaining rage of you.

Against Hunter: Farely easy imo. Alot of different approaches available. With Sukku seduce the hunt -> Fear the pet. From here you start to either burst him down or dot him while staying close enough so he cant shoot nor meele attack (rather be to close than to far away, they dont hit to hard and mostly will just put a slow on to get away from you) if he trys to kite ... well gnome racial is awsome.

Against Mage: Hands down Fellhunter is my alltime favorite pet. He will allow you to succed against most Casters if utilizied well. Let him sheep you as often as he want. Fellhunter will sort things out.
Dot him up. Try to fear. The mage will either try to use wotf or counterspell (try to fakecast fear/sbolt to lure it out) while dots are up and casting a shadowbolt is not an option use immolate/searing pain.
Alot of Mages will specc intro frostnova -> Imp CoC. Here try to avoid Frozen Nova or time your gnome racial properly to avoid getting critted.
Depending on what school the mage decided to go into you have to time your silence (from your fellhunter). If hes a fire Mage you mostlikely want to silence that school etc etc or when you managed to get his silence on cd and all dots up you want to burst him.

Priest: Your mostlikely up against a spriest. Here again use Fellhunter. Both of you will start to dot. When he starts to dispell himself its good it will set him onto Global cd. Force him into wotf. Make sure you keep a proper distance since he needs to be close to fear you. Defently use curses here. If you feel he outheals you to hard use CoT (the one increasing casttime) or while hes all fake lock shadowmode to wear his shield down with the regular dmg curse since he cant dispell thoose. If he uses the dot try to either dispell it from you or try to dispell his shield. Either way make sure if he fears you that you can insignia right out of it or place your pet via hold in a way where it doesnt get feared aswell so he can dispell you right out of it. Save your silence for when you force him to heal. Time your shadowward when hes about to finish his mindblast halfway to avoid as much dmg as possible (or else hell just dispell it)

Basicly against spellcasters make sure to use spellstone, not only does it get rid of all magid debuffs but also gieves a magic dmg absorb shield (not sure if it can be dispelled, cant remember).

Druids: Should be a easy pray for you as they are no undeads. Do it like the hordes... chainfear. Use the pet of your preference here eventho fellhunter is my choice here to remove hots / silence their Healing touch.

Against shamans they will mostlikely use their grounding totems like crazy persons. Make sure to macro your pet into destryoing it or try to wand them on distance to destroy it. If its an Enh shaman youll need fellhunter to kite him and get frostshock of you. Against Ele shamans and resto once too to cancel their spells via silence. Should be rather easy compared to the other classes.

Your worst enemy will be UD Grim wannabe rogues going all zg trinket / thistle tee on your ass and stunlock kill you.
Here you'll have the worst problem. Succubuss wont do shit due wotf. Fellhunter stealth detect is a joke (rarely works and only with macro/aggresive pet if at all). So here the best thing would be a voidwalker to survive the stunlock. Once out of stunlock instant deathcoil -> dot so they cant vanish. Make sure to force them into wotf and run. They'll come after you with sprint here i suggest heavy engi use or trinket use like boomerang trinket /nades.

Make sure to get alot of hp for stamina (duh). For PvP you can go whatever is your favorite a tanky demo build or a burst destro specc (my favorite). A affliction specc is usable too but usually thats the place where your points go after you went into demo.

Ofcourse this is all theory but its not impossible to handle the other classes. If you plan on pvping note you choose the hard version of playing warlock as alliance and you should defently consider heavy use of trinkets and engineering stuff. Afterall the game at this state isnt 1vs1 balanced at all. Go with groups. Get a premade.

I hope i somewhat could help you. There are alot more scenarios against each class you need to adapt ive typed already to much here ^^

Warlock hits a shitty time at your level, especially alliance side. At 60 you'll be on much better grounds to destroy people even if they're undead, provided you use a succubus

From what I hear, warlocks have a lot of potential in 60 pvp (except against rogues), but (unlike rogues) you need to know your class inside and out, and ideally know every other class inside and out. You can only really reach your potential by making use of your entire arsenal and recognizing when you need to use skills and how. Unlike rogues, who can play completely retarded and still win 90% of the time and run away the other 10%.

That's the thing about warlocks, you need a specific pet to counter each class. Most gankers won't wait 10 seconds for you to summon a pet. Summoning time reduction is a demo talent that no leveling lock will have.

Also, 99% of hunters you'll encounter in world pvp are BM with fear immune pets and can just wing clip out of dead zone if they're not retards.

OP your only chance is to spot them before they spot you. If they get the first hit you're pretty much dead.

Up until 45 its tough... but sl spec with imp corruption and deathcoil should get u quite scary ... 2 void sac a healthstone a soulstone deathcoil and drain life... just get tidal charm or nifty stopwatch an your good... i scared of rogues aswell. With 2 void sac u are literally unkillable during lvling.. just dot n run drain when slowed and use deathcoil for burst or defense.

I have a gnome lock in t 2 in spec 9 31 11...with engineering... 1 vs 1 litteraly unkillabe. Ok rogues with charm and tea...but who cares stunlock ded is stunlock ded
