Just to clarify a few things:

As of the current patch these gloves do NOT eat the stormstrike debuff.
Spell Damage has no longer effect on the Lightning Strike proc.
Lightning Strike will double proc on WF procs.
Lightning Strike will NOT proc of of Storm Strike or Lava Lash.

I did. You had +555 spell damage in the first screenshot (695 with JotC). Just because your SoR coefficient didn't exceed 100% doesn't mean it was anywhere near blizzlike. Your coefficient is supposed to be 10%.

The line in my character page where it says "Spell Dmg" doesn't exist in the actual Vanilla WoW User Interface - it's there because I use an Add-on called "Caster Stats" and it lists ONLY the spell dmg found on my armour/weapon, that's it.

While it does add Wizard Oil (+24 spell dmg) to the total IIRC, it doesn't take into account Flask of Supreme Power (+150 spell dmg) or Greater Arcane Elixir (+35 spell dmg), not to mention Darkmoon Faire dmg buff (+10% to all dmg), Sanctity Aura (+10% Holy Dmg), Vengeance (+15% Holy Dmg), Berserking (+30% to all dmg).

PS I also had Libram of Fervor which upped my Judgement of the Crusader considerably:

My apologies for assuming you had a competent UI mod that would actually present the total spell damage bonus on its spell damage line. You are right. I should have known better.

Yet, we have a video from 2006 and it even has a Shaman in some parts with Spellpower and he hits for 3.

I think you forgot that we have actual real evidence of it working with 0 scaling on Storm Gauntlets. Thus, your nice "comeback" is pretty invalid here. Nice try.

But whether these items did/should scale with spell dmg is getting off topic and was brought up by the other uninformed person Aethelwulf. I was merely responding to his "ZOMG the sky is falling, your SoR and Consecration ticks are doing too much dmg - you are abusing game bugs/mechanics!"

As Fire Rogues became the scourge of Peenix, the devs there made the decision (rightfully so imho) to remove the spell dmg scaling and this entire argument became a moot point.

Oh yes, unconfirmed rumour by some customer support guy who most likely joined blizzard after vanilla anyway, much evidence, such conclusive. He even says himself that the information is not available anymore and that he isn't sure it is accurate.

We have yet to see any calculations as to what kind of TPS a prot paladin can pull from either of you. Nobody is disputing the fact that paladins are good AoE tanks but that alone does nowhere near warrant a raid spot over a warrior or even a druid.
