Warlock Leech effects do cause threat on Nost.

Easy test.
Send in voidwalker to get aggro threat.
Leech effect VW target.

All other mobs will switch to Warlock on first heal tick.

If someone also use Bandages to tank will make Aggro temporary gone from the tank too .

Yeah bandaging is bugged and causes temporary threat suspension until the action is canceled or completed.

This is a bug that could be abused a few ways, to get a secondary tank a few hits of damage early to get rage to get secondary tank threat ceiling up quicker before the boss mechanic should cause the swap allowing more dps.

Or if a DPS pulls, they can insta bandage to have the boss return to MT for 6 seconds to allow tank more time to gain aggro.

most annoying and gamebreaking bug for us prot paladins is that pets and summon npc are not affected by our aggro at all :s..

example at tombs in brd = boss summon voidwalkers = 0 aggro on them , doesnt work bugged .

Healers never suppose to build up aggro when target is under crowd control .

Currently in nostalrius they build up high amount of threats.

Bump for awareness to also comment on the bug tracker to raise awareness and up the priority if possible.

This is annoying for me as a warrior, and a few fights to the small list a tankadin struggles with.

(4) AOE Threat: Healing, Buffing, Power Gain

Each point of healing causes 0.5 threat, forgetting threat modifiers. Overhealing doesnt cause threat. Most buff spells cast on friendly players generate a small amount of threat.


(D) Paladin
Paladins receive 50% threat from healing compared to other healers. This is designed to stop them tanking instances by healing everything in sight. As a side affect, this gives them a decent advantage over other healers where healing threat is an issue.


This is the reason why Paladins cause too much threat in server , i have already experimenting this with theloras , in fact paladin's heal should cause 0.25 threat , where in Nostalrius they cause 0.5 threat same as any other healer.

I'll keep looking, but for now, the earliest reference about Vampiric Embrace threat is from January 2008, middle of Burning Crusade.

+Healing gear does not increase the percentage healed by this spell.
Healing generated from Vampiric Embrace causes Threat in the same way as other healing spells


However, all patch notes related to Vampiric Embrace I can find are related to the amount healed, the duration of the debuff ( or buff after it was changed to it) or issues unrelated to threat generation. I'd think it was this way by 1.12, which was only 3 or so patches before this piece of information.

Regardless, I will keep looking. Same for Seal of Command which is the other question raised in this thread.

Answer found.

I worked my way chronologically from Jan 2008 backwards see how much information I could find.
Below all what I found till finding the answer: Vampiric Embrace generated regular healing threat in vanilla, and said threat was reduced by Shadow Affinity. (on top of Silent Resolve, which affects all spells in vanilla, changed to Holy/Disc only in 2.0.10).

What I gather from the world of warcraft livejournal is that VE's healing in the context they were discussing it (mid-late 2007, mid BC) did standard heal threat. Debate was if Silent Resolve or Shadow Affinity reduced it.

And the january 2007 quote, right around the time of BC launch, at least is definitive in Vampiric Embrace generating threat.

I honestly find no credible grounds for this to be anyhow different in vanilla. Specialy since BC content patch nor launch refer to any threat aspect of the spell.
