Farming class

Which class would be best for general farming/gold making?

I was thinking Mage, with Skinning and Herbalism. (because my main is alch) So that not only can I make some gold from skinning and herbs, but I can also AoE farm, or farm DM East.

Speaking of which, is it even worth it to have herbalism, when you can AoE farm DM East? It looked like the mobs in there were dropping just about every common herb.

Hunters can farm DM Tribute, so hunter hands down.

Isn't that getting fixed, though? There was an admin post stating that they were going to change it so that you can no longer single-pull the king.

IIRC Ohr did a legit run with both King and Cho'Rush being pulled. Don't know whether he succeeded or failed, but it's not hard to kite them both around the ring. Hunters will still be a good farming class regardless of DM Tribute changes.

I said "going to", not "did".

If they "fix" DM North Tribute the hunters will just go back to farming Maraudon. Regardless hunters are the best at farming hands down, this doesn't change until WotLK.

What makes them the "best", though? That's what I'm curious about.

With Mages, you can farm DM East for shitloads of herbs and Living Essence, and you can AoE farm humanoids for shitloads of cloth and greens/blues.

But what do you "farm" on a hunter? Does soloing a few instance bosses really generate that much gold?

Yes, farming bosses is extremely profitable as you can vendor all the loot. Their kit also allows them to survive better than any other class as well as keep the damage off them.

DM East farming doesn't give a "shitload" of herbs and Living Essence either, and those herbs and essences rely on the exonomy to give you gold.
