Research Help Request

by eridu » Wed Sep 16, 2015 11:44 am

Hi All

I'm doing some research on why MMO players like to mainly play MMOs and compare their reasons to play with those who are mainly FPS players (no rude suggestions please). This is for a project that I need to do for the final part of my Psych degree.

I've put up a questionnaire on SurveyMonkey that I am using to collect data for this - it takes no more than 10 minutes to complete and there is a £20 amazon prize draw (local currencies will be catered for) for those completing the questionnaire - just put your email address in where asked at the end of the questionnaire to enter.

The web link is here: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/YCBQGQP

Thanks to anyone who looks at this post, and especially those that take part.

Best wishes

Eridu.

Hi

Not sure what you mean by no scamming?

I'm the supervisor of the student (I'm an Assoc. Professor at Swansea University) who is completing the project. I also play on Nostalrius, being a long time WoW vanilla fan, so I offered to put the link on the forum site. I'm also distributing it to the sites of other MMOs that I play - given the topic of the research and that I own quite a few MMOs and visit the forum sites.

All participation is anonymous and the ethics was provided in accordance with the procedures required by the declaration of Helsinki. The only way that we can contact a specific person is via a supplied email if, and only if, they enter the prize draw. We have selected Amazon vouchers because this allows anonymity to be maintained since the voucher will be sent to the winner's supplied email address - no identifying information is provided.

If you have any concerns regarding the questionnaire then I can be emailed directly (the information and ethical consent sheet have the details) and I will be happy to address them.

Best wishes, and thanks for looking at the post.
