Cataclysm. My main Problem with Retail Wow is that it doesn't feel like an Adventure anymore, classes feel the same and the game is a fucking button smash. Draenor was supposed to fix this but they failed horribly. Every time I'm in the mood to restart Draenor I go on Twitch.tv, look for a streamer playing Arena and watch him button smash for 15 minutes until the "Dampening"-debuff comes. This is enough for me to kill the urge to play Draenor. I was excited for Draenor. I played a WW-Monk to 100 and the Class got nerfed 3x, from 20% Bonus Damage to 5% Bonus damage on all abilities. The Class was shit so I tried other classes: Everyone of them bored me. The World isn't dangerous, until lvl 20 you only need to Moonfire/Shadowword:Pain them once and they die.
The world in Vanilla wow feels huge, alive and dangerous. Classes are extremely unique, every class AND! specc plays completely different.
I can't explain why Blizzard doesn't understand that Player want challenge and an Adventure. The biggest gain of Subscribers were in Vanilla and BC. Can you image how much bigger the Team must have gotten by now? And still, they have less subscribers than they had in BC and Vanilla. Add that they invested heavily in Ads, launched an native client in Asia and Russia and you have a clear imagine what players want: Challenge, adventure and a feel of "togetherness" not free epics, shitty missions from a shitty phased home and safety guaranteed everywhere. They want to be challenged and getting an adrenalin kick. Draenor is like playing Farmville: No danger, no challenge, no skill required, failing is impossible. Everyone gets their Corn with a click.
-A frustrated Player who hates the road Wow took.
