Which expansion did you quit playing retail WoW?

playing first time tried vanilla liked it but lacks many things saw all the other ones i loved them wanna try all xpantions and wod trial 1-month starter pack from 3 difffrent laptops in other words 3 bnet acc and i liked it dunno why they all cry rivers about it :/ dont mind the garisons at all and trying to learn about this wow token which a friend of me told me about it which he is in the same dead end as me, trying to find now more servers with the later xpantions to try and see new content

Started playing day 1 of EU vanilla launch. I've taken breaks before and I did quit right before patch 1.11 in Vanilla, and then came back in TBC. However, Cataclysm was the expansion where I really quit for the first time. I dodged the Chinese pandas and came back in WoD, but it was now even more terrible than ever, so I quit yet again.

Vanilla, TBC and WotLK were all perfect in their own way, from there it went downhill.

Started retail WoW day 1 of Vanilla launch. Quit sometime in early Cataclysm. Though for me WoW was going downhill after Vanilla. TBC was decent, but still I preferred Vanilla. WotLK wasn't all bad, but things like RDF were a sign of end times for me. Then Cataclysm, I was happy to finally be able to play as my fav race (Worgen), but it wasn't worth putting up with all the changes I did not like in Cata, and the destruction of the old world so that they could redo it in their new "streamlined" way, was all I could take.

I dabbled in MoP and WoD and neither of them appeal to me in the least bit. All those X-packs did was confirm WoW is going in a direction I'm not willing to follow.

Vanilla feels like an adventure, a living world, and it's incredibly immersive to me. All the expansions have been "streamlining" and casualizing the game, which is great if you're a granny who enjoys facebook games and wants to make the transition into MMO's. But for me, it's a big fat NOPE.

So thank you, Nostalrius, for letting me play the best version of the best MMO ever made

i played through tbc, best expansion in my opinion.
loved wotlk too, but i quit for a few months when it was nothing but the icc grind over and over
played cataclysm for like a month, in my opinion they ruined the game at that time, did not touch wow again untill mop. played mop for a few months, like 3-4 months. i was only interested in pvp, so i enjoyed that few months honestly but had no interest in mop after that.
and not long ago they relased wod, which im also not interested. its a different game and im not into it at all. i dont even have the current expansion, and i have no plans of buying it.
so basicly i had a lot of breaks from the game. not because of me, but because they managed to ruin it each and every single time.
tbc and vanilla the only WOW im interested in. well every once in a while i go and play some wotlk pvp, but that shit gets really boring after some time

Wrath of the Lich King, pretty glad I stopped there, as I only have amazing memories of retail WoW - both PvE and PvP.

I quit during ulduar in wrath, came back for toc and ice crown then quit again after lich king down. Went back for like 2 weeks in mists, unsubbed and haven't been back.

Wrath was pretty boring for me. The content was all cleared immediately and was the only game in town for months, not to mention naxx was just a rehash of a previous raid I had already experienced. By the time ulduar was spoiled and I saw the flame leviathan fight i unsubbed. The idea of being in a vehicle not controlling my own char greatly disturbed me. I got begged to come back for toc so I did, but it was very boring and was just counting down the days until icc, which I did find to be fun for the most part.

Going from vanilla pvp and bc pvp to wrath also was a huge change that left a bad taste in my mouth. Death knights and hunters absolutely ruined the first season, and the pacing in season5 was also incredibly different and not to my liking.

Can I be #30 for Cata ? Although I played it, I quit because of it and MoP both together. After WotLK it was downhill, fast, for me.

Cataclysam, after killing Cho gall on heroic, taking realm first didnt felt like acomplishment, i decided it is enough. Havent played on retail since then. I mean, comparing Tribute to insanity 25 man to any cata raid is just enough.
I am still not sure if i will try new expansion....
