Turkey Week Family Torture

This forum needs more pointless threads.
At home with family for Turkey Week, the maternal unit has an old 19in flat screen TV that she is considering upgrading to something newer (a smart-TV). She purchased this TV (a Panasonic) in 2003 and paid $1,800 for it (and still has the receipt to prove it).
Despite my insistence that this TV is not 1080p, she's flipping through the user manual to find out definitively, because she absolutely does not want to "downgrade" to a 720p TV. No matter how many times I've told her that 1080p HDTVs were not on the market in 2003, she's certain that it "might" be 1080p because she paid $1,800 for it.
::sigh::
