Mostly due to the timing of Nos going down and them going up. Most people do not like the idea on starting on a new server, so it just worked out that playtbc was a transition.

Besides BC wasn't a bad expansion, great game too.

I'm not saying i wouldn't enjoy a good blizzlike TBC server, but playTBC is obviously shit and people keep promoting it.

I think the fact that it was hardly online long enough to make a character probably has something to do with it.

I thought I outlined it rather well, but I'll reiterate. The timing of Nos going down and being a new tbc server going up has lead people there. People prefer to start on a new bugged server (they hope will be fixed over the months) than going to an established tbc server where they'll miss the release of content.

Because despite hearing nothing but bad things about it, people still promote it everywhere. Also, it kinda sprang up out of nowhere, with people shilling for it hard immediately after the bad news came. Seems a bit sketchy imo.
