New to the server, my experience so far

Hey everyone! I heard about this server while on my quest to find a quality vanilla WoW experience. I'm sure most of you, if not all of you, don't need to hear how good the server is from a newbie on the server, but just hear me out. It's a decent story.
I love to play heals in MMOs, so I went with a Priest and named him after me, of course. I log in and I see Northshire being hit with a rainstorm in all it's 800x600 glory! I turn up all the graphics and fix the resolution. No more black borders! That was fine back then, but it doesn't look great with my modern monitor, sadly. Anyway, I see people. A lot of them. Well, that's good. That's very good! There's people LFG for Hogger, people WTS and all sorts of stuff. Good! There's a community here! (More on that later)
So I pick up the starter quests and start Smiting some Kobolds. I can't help but smile as I gradually go oom. Yes! This is how it should be! And I'm actually slowly dying!! These Kobolds can't get one shot by a level 1 Priest! By now, I'm so happy. It feels like a proper RPG! There's challenge! There's danger! I'm not invincible. (More on that part later
)
Skipping ahead a bit; I'm off to Goldshire! There's even more peeps here! I expected that, but it still makes me happy. Grab the quests here, and now I'm heading South to the mines to slay more Kobold! What I see next will probably haunt my newbie life forever.... Corpses. Corpses everywhere. A LOT of players have died here recently. So I slowly make my way into the mines. I'm picking them off one by one, but it's still no easy task. I'm barely keeping myself alive in here. Eventually, I run into a Human Warrior. She's only in here for ores, so she's nice enough to let me hit the Kobolds so that I can loot them, but then she tanks for me. That made things so much easier.
At one point, we came across a Human Mage who aggravated way too many of these runts. I heal him back up to full, and help him out. We also came across a Dwarf in those wretched mines. He was struggling a bit, so I made sure to put Fortitude on him first, then healed him back up to full. He does his adorable little Dwarf wave to me. God, I love Dwarves. A little bit later, the Warrior and I head back to the entrance and she takes her leave. I still needed a few more gold dust from the Kobolds, so I stay for a bit longer.
After I got the few remaining gold dust, I make my way back to Goldshire. When I get there, I see a few corpses. Goldshire is under attack! There's a Druid running around attacking everyone. I hide in the Inn. I come across my trainer's corpse. Moments later, another Priest walks in. He gives me an armor kit in exchange for telling him when the Trainer will respawn. How generous! I thank him, and I wait for about minute. The Priest Trainer respawns, I send him the whisper, and grab my next spell; "Shadow Word: Pain"!
My next quest involves me going East to another mine infested with Kobolds. Before I head out, I buy some new clothing from a merchant. Much better! I head East and make way to the Tower of Azora. I head North from there, and just moments later I'm at the mine. The Kobolds here are much tougher! Some even know how to use magic! By now, it's 3am and I'm a bit tired from all this excitement. I head back to the Tower of Azora, and I get attacked by a bear! He's level 9! I end up dying.... That'll teach me to pay more attention to where I'm going...
I resurrect, head into the tower, and log off. Needless to say, I'm looking forward to playing again! As you can tell from the long story, my experience has been golden! The people here are superb! The game is fantastic and the server seems stable! I almost forgot I was playing on a private server.
Later today, I'm bringing one of my friends on-board. I have a feeling it's going to be even better.
Thanks for reading my story!
