Nostalrius Begins - Quality wow vanilla realm (1.12)

Hi guys,

First post here. Been playing a couple of weeks now and have so far reached level 30. As you know, the vanilla grind is real and with the opening of BWL today, I am starting to wonder if all the raid guilds/teams are already so well established that when I finally hit 60 I will be so late to the party that I will miss out and won't be able to get a raid spot anywhere.

Can anyone tell me if this is the case and if there are new raid guilds forming all the time etc? As I may not be level 60 for another month or so.

Guild's basically never stop recruiting so no, you're definitely not too late. If only you know how to play your class you shouldn't worry a little bit about it.

A well-written application will go a very long way in giving you a chance with most guilds.

Knowledge of pre-raid bis items for your class, what guilds expect from their raiders and generelly seeming like a decent person will also carry weight.

Many thanks for the replies so far guys. Something I forgot to mention was that it seems a lot of the guilds have already cleared MC and Ony and are now working on BWL etc. Is this the case or are there guilds starting out with MC also?

There should be some newer guilds still progressing MC/about to do so, I'd suggest checking recruitment threads for more specific information. However as long as you acquire pre-raid BiS you should be fine in BWL as well (if you don't mind skipping T1 content progression).

If you're on horde side, just spend 1 minute at org trade chat along with World chat and you'll see like 10 guilds, from NA, EU, RUS, etc. recruiting people for end game raiding. A couple have 11/11 and on farm but most are barely at farm status or still progressing/farming pre-raid BIS gear.

If I were you, I'd focus on collecting gold and leveling ASAP and maybe finding a guild before 60 if possible. If you're in one right now and they aren't raiding you can always leave and find another one so no big deal.

But yeah, there's never a shortage of guilds progressing through MC as most people here on this server would rather work for a clear than get carried with welfare loot with a guild on farm status. (At least from what I've seen so far)

It's never going to be too late, since the server will never patch out of Classic. There will always be new guilds recruiting. I myself just recently ditched out of one that was 11/11 due to being screwed out of my slot. My advice is, unless you're a healer, find a new up and coming guild if you expect to get a core team slot. Any already successful guild is going to be full dps every class and bench you. I've turned down a whole row of top end guilds I could be sitting in just because I won't ride a bench. I'm now in a 0/11 newb guild(hasn't started content at all yet) just because I want a core team slot. Remember, even the best guild is of absolutely no value to you if they aren't taking you to the raid.

There still are guilds that progress starting from MC.

<Surge> is a brand new guild that formed while a lot of us were leveling. Were now mostly 60, in pre raid BiS and our first raid is on this Tuesday.

Guilds will always start up and want to progress their way through content.
