High CPU Usage and Temps on Macbook

by Killswitch » Mon Sep 21, 2015 11:34 am

Hi Guys,

Don't know if anyone else has had this but:

I'm playing on a mid 2012 Macbook Pro 13" i7. Which used to run WoW without any issues at all. I DL'd this client fine but even the character creation screen is pushing my CPU usage upto >95%. My system temp then rockets upto 80c meaning I have to manually push the fan to 6000rpm. I've got no add ons and i've tried running everything on lowest possible graphic settings. My frame rate is perfect, just crazy high CPU and Temps.

Any thoughts/suggestions?

Cheers!

In the Video settings, put the multisampling to 1x. I think it's 8x by default, and it used to cause my MacBook to overheat as well at first. Now the game runs just fine with 1x.

Indeed, multisampling should be lowered on a Mac. Mine handles 2x just fine though

Cheers Guys

I'll try shifting my multisampling and report back!

Melo: If you search Mac on the forums you'll very quickly come across a link for a Mac client someones posted. I downloaded that and it installed without a problem.
