Advice for a fresh character on the upcoming PVE server?

Hey there,

I was curious as to whether people would suggest i level either a Warrior or a Paladin as a main on the upcoming server?

My main was/is a warrior on retail, although i started playing late in 2006 so never really did any max level content before TBC, although i'm much more familiar with Warriors than i am with Paladins, mostly playing as DPS but with some experience of tanking (although not as a MT in a raid). Currently i have a warlock around level 40 on this server.

I was mainly looking towards casual PVE/PVP with the possibility of focusing more, but probably more likely on PVP.

In short, would people recommend i go with the Warrior or a Paladin? I'd prefer to be a damage dealer rather than a tank or healer, but I'd try to be flexible of course. I'm aware that warriors are more suited to damage dealing and tanking than Paladins at endgame, but would playing as a retribution paladin for example be a hindrance or not if I'm mostly doing dungeons, pvp and perhaps occasional raids?

It'll be hard to find groups as Ret paladin. You wanna play a dd, so I'd suggest to go the warrior way. You won't be happy with a ret pala in vanilla.

Thanks for the response. Sounds good to me, i was leaning towards a warrior as it was, wouldn't be right not playing one i suppose!
