Hey there

So basically I figured I'd take the time to introduce myself briefly and ask a few basic questions.
I played WoW mostly during wotlk and even if I didn't reach endgame in neither classic nor TBC, I got increasingly pissed at the blatant downgrade in difficulty that I witnessed when levelling, doing dungeons and generally getting around.
My brother and myself did an experiment years ago in retail during 3.1 or 3.2 don't quite recall. Just using a warrior and a paladin we basically cleared all classic content, 5-mans, elite quests, you name it, without using heirlooms or any particularly special technique. I asked around about this seeming lack of difficulty and learnt that the game I had paid for was basically a watered down version of what it had been. When 3.3 hit and the dungeon finder came in, I noticed more of this lazy-friendly approach and feeling ripped off, quit retail in 2009, never to return other than the rare free week during Cata or so.
After that, during 2010 and 2011 I was somewhat close to the vanilla private server scene, trying a bunch of servers that were around at the time. I was even a GM in one of those until the owner packed up and left with the donation money.
It's been a good number of years since I've played World of Warcraft, but being NEET right now, I figured it won't hurt to try one last time.
So, just a few questions.
1) How are server demographics currently (faction)
2) Is it possible to do RP (roleplay) and are there guilds for it?
and the main question I have to ask:
3) Is Alterac Valley released? And if so, what version is it? Is it the 1.5 version with the plentiful NPC guards, Korrak in the middle, the Syndicate quest of the All-Seeing Eye and the Goblin Shredder? The 1.8 version where Korrak was pushed to the mountains, the Syndicate was out? Or the gimped 1.11 version (the one that existed during 1.12 in retail) when most NPCs were removed and it was possible to blitz through?
Thank you for your time.
