New players looking to start... questions!

Hey folks. Me and at least 1 friend are looking to come to the server. We were curious about how the pvp works, been a long time since we played wow. Is there a lot of high lv ganking around the world or are there things in place to help prevent or lower it?

I'm told the gankage gets serious on the PvP server but on the PvE server I haven't seen much of anything.

There is quite a lot of it. Really the only thing you can do about it is not going to zones or quest hubs that are popular ganking spots.
