Lupos does indead deal shadow damage, however: it is reduced by armor as if it were normal damage. Which then means it's worse than regular damage, if you got him, stable him.
It is recognized as a bug though - it's on the bug tracker.

Its not Lupos that is bugged, its elemental damage in general so yes if Ursol'lok is supposed to do fire dmg then thats bugged aswell.

Here is an other question regarding how BM talents: Unleashed Fury(5/5 = +20% damage) and Ferocity (5/5 = +15% crit) works with Abilitys: like LightingBreath.
Actually is it considered as a Spell ability or like hunters Arcan Shot? During my leveling i have seen that LB does 150% damage on critical strikes, so it is base is spell. But Does/Must Unleashed Fury and Ferocity affect its damage = for the moment i haven't seen any damage increase due to Fury, don't know exactly for Ferocity. At my level my WS with LB rank 3 is doing 36-40 ND to target, on spell it self it shows 39-44, but it is not due to Ferocity, only happinnes: 36-40*1.25=39-44. 44 Damage is what it does to the targets if not resisted.

SO my question:
Does it work as intended with Unleashed Fury, since their is no damage increase by 20% on abilitys?

EDIT:
Thank blizzard for making errors, so i found the patch fix to Lightning Breath and ThunderStomp - non physical hunter pet abilitys in 1.12.0 - they was not affected by Ferocity talent - so they Should get the +15% base crit to it. Still haven't found any info about damage modifiers Like Unleashed Fury and pet family, according to TBC spredsheets, it must affect ALL pet abilitys physical and non-physical ones. I mean
LB damage=LB_base X 1.07 X 1.25 X 1.20
which are respectively pet family Wind Serpent, Happinness and Unleashed Fury Talent.

As per Patch Notes 1.9:

* All hunter pets will now always deal Physical damage for their base attack.

It may be that Lupos deals shadow damage, but the damage is reduced by armor because it is supposed to be Physical. I imagine this is the same for the other creature that someone claims should deal fire damage. And my understanding is that while content is gated, mechanics are at 1.12 revision, which means at this point all pets should be dealing Physical damage on their normal attacks.

Any further news on this? For if it is still bugged, I will swap Wind Serpent out with a Wolf instead when raiding, since I am planning on getting 20% increased dmg from pets..

Dunno, works for me...
As you can see on screenshot, Wind Serpent's Lightning Breath is 52-61 damage, but shoots 66 and 72....target has no debuffs, it was 60 lvl mob...

Back when I played Classic I used the Rare Spawn Scorpion( Death Flayer) from the Barrens if I remember right. I was wondering what people though of scorpions. As there is nothing in this guide about them.

Whats the opinion on owls? they seem like a good well rounded pet with dive+claw and screech.
