Mind flay 2 ticks. Anyway to get around this??

About once every 3 casts, mind flay will tick 2 times instead of 3 for me. This happens even in raids and is killing my dps!

I'm playing from Germany, with a very good connection (~100Mb/s). The latency bar shows 28ms.

It was suggested to me that this happens when standing 20-24yds away from the target, basically the range added by the talent. However even when standing in the mobs face, this still occurs with the same frequency (about 33% of the time, once every three casts).

I got the Mik's Scrolling Battle Text addon (linked on these forums somewhere), which provides a very good way of monitoring the damage done - this is where I'm getting this info from. Plus my dps as measured by raidstats is lower than what it should theoretically be.

Has anyone figured a way to get around this bug??

Play at 4 AM server time, it's better.

Or wait for server clustering and pray the results are good enough.

3rd option is to clip after 2nd tick if first two are delayed but it's obviously going to kill your mana so only viable on Geddon / Lucifron / Vael basically...

Nope, you can't do anything. The server is laggy and as a result spriests are a broken pos spec to play, and they are already shit to begin with. I suggest re-rolling something else.

You most likely have, just never noticed it. It's kind of hard to notice when you have SW:P up aswell as mindflay going, as the damage ticks can be similar or exactly the same (depending on gear, buffs, vulns, etc).

I flagged this bug months ago, and I can confirm that this is a SPriest class bug. I came up with about the same percentage as you, 33%. I worked hard to prove it and it drove me crazy. Personally I just wrote it off as a cost of playing on a free server. Good thing is, in pvp we still rock face.

Please submit it on the bug tracker.
