Hey man,

I've grinded a few mages going full frost. The beginning will be tough, but as soon as you stack intellect and frost damage/ spell power; kiting and pulling with frost bolts will be a piece of cake.

TBH, it wasn't until lvl 40 when I was able to pull massive groups, hop off my mount and frost nova the crowd.. make it rain with blizzard then CoC the runners... Blink inside to Arcane Explosion them down.. you'll hit 60 in no time.

but seriously. I always went 41 points into frost. It may be a terrible idea for some, but to each their own.
