That's what has me legitimately afraid of the moderation team on this server. I have never maliciously abused or exploited anything in retail WoW, and I don't plan on doing it here, but if I accidentally do something while playing the game normally that the GMs say is a bug, then I might get permabanned with no warning for it.

It's simple, don't do stupid shit. Anyone who thinks he spawned griffons on end clearly didn't play retail. He summoned 2 griffons, if they died he summoned 2 more, if he reset they were still linked to the flight master and he didn't spawn more.

Although I think that it's not necessarily ban worthy, you knew that this wasn't something that was intentional or beneficial.

I'm pretty sure he would spawn more gryphons if you left combat and attacked him again. I remember standing on the tent next to the fp in Sentinel Hill and doing this. It was probably shoot, vanish, repeat and they kept spawning. So, not really a bug, just annoying.
