Pet keeps abandoning me.

I am a recently level 10 Tauren hunter. I have been trying to tame a Scorpid as a pet, and have had problems. Every time I tame one, after a while it just runs away. I have finished all the hunter quests for level 10. I feed them. I had one long enough that it even leveled up with me. But no matter which scorpion I tame, after a little but they just disappear never to return. One even disappeared mid fight, I pulled a kodo, it ran at it, and before it got to him it faded out and after the fight I couldn't call it back or revive it.

Anyone know why my pets are leaving?

If i remember correctly, in Vanilla you need to satisfact your pet by giving him food. If you don't he leave you.

Yes thats the thing, I feed him. I mean unless I am suppose to shove an entire stack of meat down his throat the second I tame him. I usually give him like 2 or 3 meat when I tame him and they always run away.

Right next to the pet portrait is his current happieness, the icon looks like a smiley:-)

Red - sadface, angry, gonna leave you... 75%dmg
Yellow- normal face, like a wife whos last present been a while. 100% dmg
Green - happy face, does the happydance with the happyhat, 125% dmg
When you tame a pet its usually angry red, when you feed it changes to yellow and green.

What race are you? Scorpions dont really like the smell of troll or tauren hunters, try a raptor or something different.
