Exactly, the GM who banned him, didn't give any information to his ban, and as he wasn't in staff anymore, he couldn't really ask him to. So it wouldn't make sense to keep him unbanned, if the GM made a mistake and forgot to include any reason or proof.

Because they should be able to trust the decisions made by their staff. Including previous staff members. And bans are supposed to be permanent.
The point is, that exceptions are being made for some individuals and not others. The favoritism being shown is obvious. There is no consistency on how things are handled on the forums, or in-game. There isn't enough communication from the Nos staff, and they keep locking/hiding threads they don't want to discuss, sometimes without even really addressing the issue.
Now, I don't want this to sound like I hate what has been done, or what we have, because I don't. The server is great, and works awesome. And I completely understand that, as a private server, they can run it however they want. But without consistency, they are only going to piss people off.

Because like he said, they don't ban lightly without proof?

Exactly this. The GM is no longer around and they don't even know why he was banned. Regardless they should be keeping records or when and why people are banned. If you can't explain why you banned someone then they shouldn't be banned.
Seeing a lot of favoritism here as well as bending or even breaking rules for people and it really isn't fair.

We do keep records of why players are banned 99% of the time, but as in all other things, mistakes happen. In this case, the responsible GM forgot to add a reason for the ban. We cannot defend an unjustified ban, and as we cannot ask the GM anymore, we had to unluck the player account. No one is being favoured over others. You can take your conspiracy elsewhere.
