I looted an item and did not receive it

I was doing DM and rolled for Blackened Defias Armor from Edwin and I won, but never got the item. My bags were full but I never played vanilla before and I am used to my bags being full in retail and getting mailed the item. After checking mail I still don't see it so I am wondering if your bags are full and you win an item you need to clear and go back and loot. If I could get some info on this I would appreciate it, I wish I knew sooner.

this is the case. I had no idea Blizzard changed it so if your bags are full you just get mailed extra stuff...what's the point of bags then?

Greetings flashy,
if your bags are full, the loot remains on the corpse and to make things worse, anyone else can loot it at that point. Please always make sure that you have 1-2 slots available in your bags before beginning a boss fight.
We do not recompensate players for lost items, no matter what the reason.
