Can't Connect

Hi everyone, just made my account and tried to sign into the game, but it's saying i'm unable to connect.
I installed the game from the tutorial on the website and changed nothing, but am having problems trying to play the game. Some help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

I would just like to go over a few problems that people may have in this case.
Is your password length at or under 16 characters? The registration on the main page allows you to exceed 16 characters, but the client disallows passwords over 16 characters.
Have you tried "SET realmName "Nostalrius Begins" (without quotes) on a new line in your realmlist.wtf file? You may be connecting to a test realm that players do not have access to.
Are you sure you are typing your password in correctly? You may type out your password in a notepad, select it, and paste (CTRL V) into the password field.

My password is over 16 characters, how would I go about changing it?
As for setting the realm name, it says access is denied when I try to alter the file.
I am running as administrator, and installed the game as admin as well.

You may contact Viper with as many details as possible about your account in order to reset your password.
As for the realmlist.wtf, copy it to your desktop and make the changes to the file on your desktop. After you save it, copy it to your WoW directory. It should ask you for administrator approval. You may click "Replace" on the first pop-up and "Continue" on the second one.

Hey PS2015K,
If you have not made a character on the account yet then It will save time to just create a new account with a password 16 characters or less.

I have contacted Viper about the password reset. I tried logging in with a different account but was unable to connect after making the changes to the realmlist

I haven't made a character yet, but I did try a new account and didn't work.
