Nostalrius Begins - Quality wow vanilla realm (1.12)

I'm not going to lie, this has become an issue.

I have full 60 fps, vsync removed well over 200. Outside of this issue everything runs perfectly. I have at least a somewhat decent computer by today's standards. By no means should a game made in 2006 be giving me any trouble.

16 gigs of RAM, 3.5GHZ I7 processor, Nvidia GTX 860M, WD Black2 Dual SSD/Hard Drive 128gb/1TB, Windows 8.1

That being said, every now and again when I'm running there are these 2 second intervals where everything locks up and repeats the last noise about 3-4 times. It's seldom, but frequent enough to be an annoyance.

When someone wants to kill me however, this happens consistently and without exception.

This didn't happen when I first installed the game. I have deactivated all addons, deleted WTF and WDB folders.

I reformatted my hard drive and transferred the client back via Flash Drive. I'll redownload the client and keep you guys updated.

If anyone else is experiencing this problem, feel free to share.

While vanilla wow isn't really optimized good enough, i believe it shouldn't cause anything else but just random FPS drops to 50 or something. I've, however, had an issue where i would get a FPS drop to 30.
That would last like 10-15 seconds and it would happen every few minutes. Issue was graphic card overheating , causing by just a bit more dust than usual.
I clean my pc from dust once a month, but in this case i probably haven't done any cleaning for close to 2 months or something. If your PC isn't under warranty you can do that i guess.

Umbassa, i have the exact same problem, and it's really annoying. I notice it stutters only when i engage in combat or crit it's like the server is trying to sync up with me playing. Very annoying!

I just reinstalled the client, everything is working fantastically.

Must've been a memory leak or something of the like.

I have a similar issue. My game just runs super choppy but my FPS is always super high. However I also get stutters during combat and freezes. I re installed the client today and it didn't fix it

Is it in Program Files x86?

If not, it might be running 64 bit, which as Tosicx said before, Vanilla WoW isn't exactly optimized for. I know some older programs I try to run are significantly less efficient until I've moved them into x86. Some sort of legacy mode I guess.

This time I used the Nostalrius installer and used Program Files x86 as my file location instead of my 1TB HDD partition.
