Change account password?

How does that command work? And are there any issues with it? I've seen some people say they tried it and couldn't access their account. Just want to make sure I'm doing it exactly right so I don't jack it up or end up revealing my password in say.

.account password [oldpassword] [newpassword] [newpassword]
If you want to make it easier, put this in a notepad and change out the [oldpassword] and [newpassword]. If you don't trust yourself, copy and paste your [newpassword] so you have it correct.
