[60] Stave of the Ancients - Hunter Quest Line Bugged

Afternoon, after several days of work I finally managed to complete the Stave of the Ancients quest that involves killing the rare spawn demons.

When I went to turn in the quest last night, the NPC had a silver "?" above his head, and the continue button on his window was not clickable.

I thought it might be an addon issue, so I turned off all my addons, but this did not fix it.

At this point I noticed the quest was missing from my quest log, even though I had JUST confirmed that it was completed. So I could not turn in the quest, but I also could not abandon it, because it was not in my quest log.

I filed a ticket, and logged off for the night.

Unfortunately, the GM who responded this morning, did not take the time to read my ticket, and replied that "The ST class quests are currently not available in game, thanks".

I hearthed back to Ironforge and noticed that the quest had re-appeared in my quest log.

I ran BACK out to Felwood but was still not able to turn the quest in.

If this was any old quest, I would just abandon it and try again, however this quest took 4 days and a combined 30+ hours to complete, so I'm hesitant to abandon the quest without some kind of GM confirmation that it is safe to do so, or that I can be helped if something goes wrong.

I tried logging on from another computer with a fresh install and 0 mods.

Still not able to be completed, so this is definitely not a mod issue.

A lot of quests were indeed removed recently because they were actually 1.7 and 1.8 quests which should not have been in this recent 1.5 Alterac Valley patch, but I'm not sure if Stave of the Ancients was one of them.

Appreciate your feedback but it's totally unhelpful.

This quest is in game, and working. Several hunters have already completed it.

The problem is not with the quest existing, the problem is that somewhere between me starting the quest, and finishing it, something went wrong, and is preventing me from completing it.

Please read my post clearly if you are going respond.

This post has absolutely NOTHING to do with the sunken temple class quests.
The gm who responded mis-read my submission, and provided an incomplete resolution to my ticket.

I hang around the Support forum and help as many people as I can. I was at work and didn't have time to fully research this matter and was going to look into it more when I got home and update my post, but nevermind now.

As I've said, 30+ hours of camping spawns and game time to get this done, been working 10 hour days on less than 4 hours of sleep all week, so I could get spawns at 3, 4, and 5 AM my time.

Not a happy camper right now, my apologies for the rudeness.

Thank you ingame GM for resolving this issue.

For any hunters in the same boat and wondering, yes you can abandon the quest without fear of loosing your heads/progress.
