My dear Support team,

as the title states, I have a question regarding account sharing. To quote from your ToU

Multiboxing refers to playing multiple separate characters simultaneously. This can either be achieved by using multiple separate machines to run the game or by running multiple separate instances of the game. It is against the rules to /follow level characters, run dungeons or raids with multiple characters, PvP with multiple characters, etc. There are only a few situations where multiboxing is allowed in Nostalrius, e.g.:

Trading items between accounts.
Professions, as long as no farming is involved;
i.e. You can have two characters ingame simultaneously for crafting, enchanting, or trading purposes.

A friend of mine stopped playing and gave me his account information. As far as I understand your ToU I am allowed to use his account to enchant or trade with myself or others, meaning for this purpose I can be logged in with both accounts at the same time.
Am I also allowed to play his character if I want to, e.g. given in a BG or our raid, as long as I'm not playing with my main account at the same time?
I'm asking this since I've seen quite a few threads where people got banned for sharing account information, and I don't want to risk both my account and the one my friend gave me, but would like to use it as a twink.

Greetings,

Users are permitted to own multiple accounts. If you were the owner of this account, then yes you would be able to use it as long you adhere to the Terms of Use. However, in this case the account has been gifted which is a clear infringement of the account sharing policy within the Terms of Use.

As a reminder, a Nostalrius staff member will never ask you for your account name nor password. Please, never share your login information. We will not recover characters, equipment or gold from a shared account. Never delete your character "by accident".

Technically it's the following:
"Cheating and account sharing

You may not purchase, sell, gift, share or trade any account, or offer to purchase, sell, gift, share or trade any account, and any such attempt shall be made null and void."

To gift a account is as prohibited as selling it. Probably because of statements of account buyers that it was merely gifted and not bought.
Normally if you multibox they will ask you which account you want to get banned. If they figure out you got one account gifted or sold to you they will ban that specific account.
