Why is it ironic?
Basement dweller could mean several things, being self-entitled which is becoming more and more common in the gaming playerbase, my conclusion comes to greedy and spoiled teenagers or anti-social adults that doesn't have anything better to do but complain until they get their way served on a plate and their hand held.

It started because the game industry realised that it's better to go with the many than the few to bolster their ratings from the majority and increase profit, even although it very well might be the bad for the overall experience.

They feel like they deserve the same result as others that clearly play more efficient than them, they're clearly arrogant and naive.. But this is how it is and it won't change anytime soon.

I put down countless of hours, days, weeks and months into all my characters I've ranked.
I met countless of premades and I brought more into the fight than an average player would, or any of the QQers on this forum clearly have.

I can only hope that people come out of their narrow tunnel and widen their perspectives.
