Healing pvp ui

Healing pvp ui

by Colezz » Tue Sep 08, 2015 10:14 pm

Im starting to heal some pvp battlegrounds, some things i have trouble with

- Knowing who is in range or not, i tried luna unit frames and the fading to show out of range was great but i couldnt use the frames, is it possible to have fading frames like this in xperl?

- binding targeting, which keybinds to target enemy and friendly and targets target, i currently got tab to enemy and shift tab to friendly, any input on peoples targeting keybinds would be appreciated

- also i noticed with tab targeting i need to be facing the person which is a huge pain as sometimes im trying to tab target sheeped friend and its not targeting them, any way to change this?

- ui setup, if any healers for premades could post their ui would appreciate thnx

What do you mean you couldn't use them? Also, the fading happens at 30y afaik instead of 40y, so there's some free room here for your heals.

Anything other than LUF is going to hurt your performance, because not only does it have everything, it's also the only unitframe addon that updates hp bars as fast as blizzards default frames. Be sure to also download BonusScanner with it so that the estimated healing being cast on raidmembers is correct.

Just use tab to target enemies like you would playing anything in pvp, and forget about a keybind for targeting friendlies asap. If you really want to, then just keep enemy target on tab and spam that till you find an enemy who has a friendly target you can heal.

Like I said, tabtargetting to heal is going to be very useless.

What you want to do is create macros like:

/script if nil then CastSpellByName("Chain Heal(Rank 1)") end
/lunamo Chain Heal(Rank 1)

For every spell and whatever rank of that spell you need. This will allow you to mouseover heal/dispel by hovering over the Luna unit frames and pressing whatever button you bound the macro to. It also allows you to mouseover a player ingame outside of his frame, like his actualy character, and cast that spell on him.

This is my UI. Notice the raidframes stack from bottom to top and from left to right, aligned between myself and my target's portrait.

My advice:

Be quick.

Cllick quick.

Heal quick.

I am just keeping an eye on the raid, watching the health of the players and at the same time watching what is going on around me. And normally if someone is running away from a horde player he most certanly need some healing. :P

heres my ui
http://imgur.com/xiAySQb
my raidframes are luna, the best frames for sure like jurary said. its not showing in that picture, but if a rejuvenation is on anyone in the raid i have it configured so it shows up so i am aware of who i can swiftmend.
i like using chronometer to track my hots/dots (the counter on the right of my character above my target) and cooldowntimers on the opposite side.

if you want a decent way of telling range, like jurary said, luna only tracks about 30ish yards so if you really want to min/max try using discord action bars like in this picture
http://imgur.com/mIQGX8X
the rejuvenation button under my player frame is just a range indication tool to show exactly 40 yards. I have it set so that if i am further than 40 yards, that button turns red.

discord is also great because it doesn't interfere with supermacro, unlike bongos. some nice macros you can use with supermacro and usebyname that i find useful-

uses 55 water if you have it, but if not uses morning glory:
/usebyname Conjured Crystal Water
/usebyname Morning Glory Dew

throws a grenade on first input, second time you use the input it cancels:
/script SpellStopCasting()
/usebyname Iron Grenade

gets rid of skull of impending doom buff if you do not wish to have it on anymore (way easier than right clicking it off):
/unbuff flee

^you can change that under click casting options, just change shift left click to 'target', you can also set dispels to certain click combinations like what i have
