I'm new to Nostalrius and I've been trying to get a feel for the people on it before I commit to something. I noticed three things that seem to be lacking:
• There are very few US guilds, most are EU.
• There are very few PvP (focused) guilds, and the ones that exist look quite impoverished.
• The community in general is quite fragmented.
My idea is to stand up a US-based PvP guild to bring things together. All a guild like this requires is a core of skilled players that work well together.
There are a few challenges to creating organizations like this that come up every time:
• Get players to leave whatever raiding guild they're leeching off of.
• Get players to leave their stupid little guild with 5 members.
• Get players to leave behind their arrogance, which also involves getting good players to get over their dislike for each other.
It seems that on every server the best players form cliques and constantly fling shit instead of cooperating as a powerhouse.
If people want to do their own thing that's fine, there are no obligations tying anyone down. The point is to provide a house for everybody to live in so they can cooperatively wreck shit.
In my experience, elite PvPers are great raiders because PvE is fucking easy, they just don't want to spend all their time killing bosses. A group of great PvPers could form the core of a raid group and carry others pulled from the server then down bosses for BiS gear.
The faction is not explicitly important, though I suppose it matters on an individual basis. If somebody really wants to be part of the best PvP organization on Nostalrius then many would have to reroll.
The core objectives would be to find and convince all of the best PvPers to join together, and get the GMs of all of the little PvP splinter guilds to disband and unite. It's like a unification of the tribes.
At the moment I just want to get people talking about it, if some of the more connected players could get the idea going in PvP circles that would be great. I'm not interested in leading it, but I'm willing to start it. Hopefully there is enough interest in an idea like this the thread gets bumped by more than people laughing at it.
