Best ways to gain rank

Have a couple of questions. I play on pvp server's horde side.
1 - What rank can I reach realistically playing only solo, without premades? And what weekly honor amount do I need for it?
2 - On weekend I play only that weekend's BG, right? What BG should I play when there's no BG weekend?
3 - Do I turn in BG's honor marks individually or do I collect them and turn in as a bunch of 3 marks of each BG (Quest for great honor or smth like that)?

AB is probably the best for non BG weekend. It might even be best during AV weekend.

For marks, I generally save up WSG and AB marks and only turn them in solo if im going to go over the 20 mark cap (they get mailed t you but only last 2 days)
AV weekend I turn in the 3-at-once 6 times, since I had the marks saved up. I'll then play enough AV to reach to AV mark cap and save them for WSG weekend (playing AB during the non-weekend)
WSG I play enough to turn in another 6 of the 3-of-each quest, then reach the WSG mark cap again.
AB weekend I just turn in AB marks, cus going back to AV is pointless during non-AV weekend

OK, I did play PvP when vanilla was live but I remember shit since it is all changed comapring to live now.... Why would one save marks or spend marks (apart from capping it). I mean what is your logic behind the decision on this?

You save them so you can turn in the 3-at-once quest, which is double honor
