Polymorph and hunter pets

Re: Polymorph and hunter pets

As people already said, the real question is : Can hunters & wlocks (it happens a lot of with felhunters too) put their pet as "invalid targets" on purpose ?
Do they realize when their pet becomes bugged ?
Can they get rid of it and make their pet "valid target" again by dismissing/recalling or re-summoning ?

Not gonna ask for an ETA concerning a fix since this is probably in the odds of casts & blinds finishing through stuns, ppl kicked from the game after getting Mind Controlled and paladins getting CCed under bubble, the above mentioned AB flags which can't be clicked/capped, etc. AKA it's not getting fixed anytime soon for legit reasons but instead bans happen apparently.

So these bugs are reported since months and they are considered bug abusing. Will casters, rogues, etc. getting casts & blinds through stuns get banned as well ? How would you make the difference between the player who did it on purpose and the player who got a cast through a stun by pure timing luck for instance ?

Is a screenshot of an "invalid target" red message when trying to attack a pet sufficient proof for GMs to toss a warning/ban ?

Maybe you should make sure the community knows that this bug can lead to a ban. Because it doesn't seem like half the hunters & wlocks even realize when their pets are bugged. And not everyone reads forum threads which aren't related to Announcements/Rules, nor have access to the Bug Tracker (compare tracker accounts with game accounts for instance).

I can't imagine you can decide to ban people for a bug they have no control whatsoever on.

I thought this was an alliance only bug for hunters. Every semi-decent ally ranker premade is running with 3 hunter defenders lol.

My guess is, server doesn't send us owner information unless you see the owner. Therefore you get totems/pets with no owner(shown as an enemy/invalid target).

That is why it is really hard to do a cap vs ally premades. Since nelf hunters stay in shadowmeld => You don't see them => You don't know who owns the pet => Invalid target bug.

I guess this might also be achieved by parking the pet and staying out of the viewdistance.

I mean there are some solutions that comes to mind but all of they cause new problems

You can send pet owner information to everyone / or just to people in the same zone => Eats away server performance => Bad fix

Just send it in BGs => This is a good fix if they can only send WHO is the owner without sending his coords. (otherwise you would see people in shadowmeld)

tl;dr Abusing this bug is simple. Don't show yourself(shadowmeld/viewdistance) and show your pet.

It is abused quite a bit. I've noticed multiple horde hunters in Redbridge that will just hide while their pet runs through town unkillable. Of course they know it's an exploit or there would be no point in setting the pet by themselves as it would die quick.

This happens many times with warlock's pets. Especially succubus. I can't dot or dps succubus with my shadow priest (and no, the warlock isn't mount) and I don't know the reason. This happens many times even when the pet attacks me.

I do this to attack people either with eyes of the beast or just the pet attack so that I can escape if more people come and I had no idea the pet was immune if it comes out as "Unknown."

There is no way most hunters are aware of this issue if it's happening every time a pet loads in before a player, or when you get off a flight path. Dismiss and re-summon every time you fly or attack someone isn't exactly obvious or practical.

Funny how this is coming from a guy who stealth caps flags in AB, was that happening on "accident" every time you were losing a BG?

This isn't just a bug for alliance hunters, i've seen many horde hunters and warlocks who's pet says 'Invalid Target', there's a good chance they have no idea that they are doing it.

It's called Noggenfogger Elixir + World Enlarger. If you're having troubles seeing me, may be it's because I play rogue and I get to flag without you being able to see me ? Try watching the flag you're defending next time instead of calling people for something you have no proof about, blind retard if I may add.
I could be even more sneaky if I wanted to by equipping random non enchanted weapons. All of this is completely legit and the only thing you can do about it is to buy yourself a new pair of eyes.
It's a L2 play issue right there on your shoulders.

Who is your character in game btw ? One of the guys in horde ranked premades I've been beating recently with a R9 premade and 60% mount guys ?
I doubt it since all of them are usually not getting people in with camera angle problems, nor would they show such salt.
