In no specific order:

Warrior (gear dependant)
Paladin (strongest pvp healer)
Mage (please no more vurtnes)
Rogue (duh, vanilla rogues broken)
Hunter (pretty good in world pvp and AV, not so much in wsg/ab.)
Locks (fear doesnt break on dots, so you can fear>dot>dead)

Rest is pmuch poop.
haven't seen any Shimshams playing anything else than resto though, so idk bout them.

But you need to remember, that

master class > shit class
Engineering+shit class > master class
Engineering+master class > god himself

If you know how to utilise everything available pretty much any class can be good in pvp. I regularly own rogues and mages ( which are probably like strongest pvp control classes) on my shadow priest, even if they open on me, using different potions and items/trinkets.

Though as the above poster said some classes are just really op. I would say warlock. Always see them on top of bg kills and even low geared ones they just shut me down due to fear not breaking from any damage. If your an engineer warlock that uses all items and potions don't see how anyone could beat you 1v1.

Very good point by Colezz. If you spend a shitton of cash and farm crap like, for example dust elementals in westfall for consumables that don't share cd's with others (like global potion cooldown, etc) + use engineering trinket, boots and helmet, then you will be a god whichever class you pick.

If you sit in the middle and fight like a moron then yea, hunters broken. If you go for objectives theres too much LoS issues. Get your head out of your asses.

well that shaman part wasn't exactly true tho as an ally i barely see any resto shamans. and for casters shamans are the worst.

but yeah basicly everything can be good in its own way.

mages are frigging annoying in most things they do.
paladins are great healer.
warriors with gear can be great, and pew pew people quickly .
Warlocks are great if you really dont want any rogues or druids sneaking by and also niceagains casters ( tho if you get locked out of a magic school my mages its not a good situations)
Druids ar good healers and great fc, not sure about the other speccs.
Rogues are nice to ninjacap things and stunlock people.
shamans are pains in the ass to casters with them grounding totems and spell interuption.

As an ally i must say all can be good, just go undead for will of the forsaken like 50% of this server
