Would love an clarification on the Terms Of Use.

Could some GM or staff member please explain in detail what they really mean with the following Rule:

C. Gameplay:

"[...] Intentionally not participating or otherwise being AFK within a battleground."



Would this include Herbing in AV?
"Leveling"/killing Rams ect in AV?
Fishing in AV/AB?
Purly Roadfighting in AB?
Like, does your action have to do with the actual "BG-objective"?

Literally means if you get caught or not, it's just if you reply to a GM whisper or not that defines outcome.
You can't spend time in ghostform, that's what I know at least, from reporting Devileyes and his scrubcrew.

Yes, all of these are considered bannable offenses. The ToU was worded specifically to be vague enough so that GM's have complete discretion. I have seen people get reported just for defending flags in AB, for defending GY's in AV, etc.

Even if you immediately reply to the GM whisper, you will still be kicked / banned. If a GM whispers you, its because you're about to be informed of some action they are going to take towards you. Most of them will give you the generic "This is not a discussion, you are free to make a new account." response.

Basically, if you find yourself thinking: "I wonder if i'll get reported / banned for this" you most likely will be. So think twice about eating food, picking up a phone call, or even typing in guild chat if you're in a BG.

I actually asked a GM if u can gather / farm in AV and he said yes, confronted with this I asked him if I can fish in AB, to wish he said "AV is different bg" so its pretty much ok for you to be a donkey and gather / herb instead of playing the game.

clarification : you can fish / gather / afk / stay in stealth in BGs aslong as you are actively engaging in these activities.

That's what I mean by "vague." There was a case about two weeks ago where a player was intentionally wiping AV raids by resetting Vann and pulling additional NPC's to purposefully cause his side to lose. After numerous reports the GM's on staff said "He is not violating the ToU because he is not using exploits or bugs." So its fine if you intentionally cause your team to lose (holding the flag at the enemy base so that your team can't cap, etc.), but it's not okay to sit back as a premade wipes your BG.

why would they be in the bg if they were not meant to be gathered/herb

So after speaking to another GM (and Pottu, please feel free to chime in) it was stated that AFK'ing in AV is totally okay (sitting in base, fishing, etc.), but only in AV. When asked to clarify the ToU and respond to this post specially, the response I got was "We do not have the time to clarify and discuss every single rule."

So keep your AFK'ing limited to AV only and you'll be fine!
