Apologies for awaking a dead post.

Isn't there a proper fix for the Alt-F4 abuse by now? Not only in battlegrounds I have this issue, also in dungeons. After a disconnection/'hic up' I am kicked out of the group and left the dungeon. It is frustrating to ask the group members to invite me back and then run the whole instance to the point i dropped out. This for me ruins the group activities.

Also, did anyone ever figure out what is causing the issue with the hiccup in connection? It only seems to happen to a few people, but is rather annoying in the middle of a bg.

I had a very similar problem of which I resolved, I became a little suspicious with my router settings so I noticed that DHCP was set to renew my IP address every hour. To confirm I timed it, and on the dot I dc'ed. For some reason this setting is locked on the router provided by my ISP, changing it was out of the question.

I resolved this by reserving the IP address on the router and manually configuring my computer to use said address. Since then (1 month ago), it's been perfect.

Don't know how to do any of this? Google DHCP Reservation <router name> or something to that effect.

Alternatively if you're stuck and catch me in-game I may be able to help if you use a Netgear device.
