Its the nature of the game. You just have to learn to deal with it. I cant wait for the PvE server. Hopefully that will stop all the tears.

So, the thought occurs that it would in principle (I am not arguing for or against this, merely observing its existance) be possible to change this aspect of WoW, as describedi in the first post.

Make available, presumably outside of the game since the WoW client cannot be changed, a mechanism which allows people to find out which zone an opposite faction player is currently in.

This is simple enough to do - the "/who" list - and although it would still be a lot of work to find someone, it would at least be an order of magnitude less work than now, since you would only need to search one zone rather than the entire world. In particular, Hunters, with their mini-map of players, would be well suited to this role.

I think though there would be opportunities for abuse. A sociopath could use this to persecute another player; the current lack of capability to find another player prevents this.

This is a horrendous idea. Can you imagine the influx of additional tears? We'd all drown.

Well, you've said it's a bad idea, and then you've said there'd be a lot of trouble from it. You've not given the vital bit inbetween... :?:
