I think this is an exaggeration. I wouldn't call them terrible, but yes. The main problem with them is they can not dispel, and aid the warriors who are the assist targets. If your main assist isn't on a target, then there's a huge problem trying to kill anyone. That is why you can fill all your healer spots with priests, but you cannot do that with druids. However, one resto druid can be pretty legit in AB, but there aren't really enough spots for a healer druid in wsg where you're going for a serious comp.

Lifebloom, cyclone, kiting ability/survivability (although they have that in vanilla as well)

Not usually full feral. Its most popular to pick up at least nature's swiftness in the resto tree if you're a serious flag carrier.
