The difference here is that the game is 10 years old and let's face it; most people that join, do it for the PvP and they seek that immediate interaction with other players. It's probably what has been missing most from retail, effectively since TBC. The "problem" is that this phenomenon is amplified because people "know" how to play the game by now, so they try to exploit anything and everything for the lulz. I know it can be annoying but that's a really big part of why someone would join a 10 year old game private server. So it's not exactly like vanilla in a sense, more like vanilla on steroids
