<BIG EDIT>
Yeah it does. A bit. That depends on the ratio between premades who want to rank and those who want to play. If there's enough actual playing premades, then the win traders are fucked. It's not like they can set up a prem vs prem game where they fastcap 5 bases and the other side intentionally loses, if the other side actually plans on stomping our team in question.
The alternative is skipping this step, but then you basically go back to the old system, which is better, but imo not good enough. All these fancy gimmicks put on top (steps 2-5) don't affect much.

I do agree that MORE premades would help solve the problem, rather than exacerbating it.

I'm curious. At what point is a group considered a "premade"?

I ask, because I play with a couple of real life friends. The 3 of us are not quite a premade. but we do group queue. We often play together in my living room, and are able to coordinate pretty well. Sometimes we can change the direction of a losing battleground we enter. We haven't played in many years, and do have difficulty getting together more than once or twice a week. We are all pretty rusty, and sure do get stomped all too often for our liking. :lol: So I don't mean to give the false impression that we are some kind of uber team. We're not. We are just people who like to do BG's, and are willing to both work together, and alone to try to improve.

I wasn't even aware that there is some kind of selection process when we queue up. Can someone explain the criteria to me, or point me at a forum write up that explains it?

I prefer to play against good teams. I like to win, but I notice my game improves when facing a good team. I get lazy and sloppy playing against disorganized pugs, and my game deteriorates.

One other thing I think I should clarify. I recommended banning for win traders. But the response to this has been a deafening silence.

I suspect this is because a number of people might have felt forced into it due to the circumstances that now exist. Many of these people probably would not do it, if they felt they had a legitimate chance to rank up in a more fair environment. So if banning becomes a viable weapon in the arsenal against win trading, perhaps, this policy should have a specific start date. Amnesty for what has gone on in the past, but a hard line against future win trading. Announcements could be made in the forum, and also on the loading screen to insure that the largest number of people were aware of it.

Win trading is cheating. Cheaters should be banned.

Some good points and ideas on here so far.

I started only about 2 months ago on this server so i don't know what kind of madness was happening to incite these measures in the first place, but I feel like recent blanket changes cause more problems than they fix. Since the changes went into effect, only WSG games happen in the 20's bracket. I imagine this is because wsg requires only 10 players and always seems to be going on- players would rather be playing than waiting. Low level players want to que for battlegrounds, and accept the first one that pops, but it is less exciting to que only for wsg because you know that AB probably won't happen. Rather than waiting around or playing monotonous games, one might as well be out levelling and thus, games just don't happen at all.

Frankly i don't have a well thought out suggestion for fixing max level pvp, but please compartmentalize whatever measures are taken to affect only that which is broken. Else, you risk breaking more as i have observed with the 20's bracket.

Just keep in mind that most players will almost always take the path of least resistance. Please try not to create resistance where it is not called for.

*edit*
i think i might just post as a separate topic.. hope it's not bad form for me to do so.
