I thought it was pretty accepted though that horde had the edge in pvp as far as racials go?
Maybe I'm remembering wrong, it has technically been over 9 years
Warlocks were also widely considered to be extremely overpowered as well.
Now, I don't mean to repeat the old cliché that everyone sucked back then, but it is 100% true that it didn't become super popular to think about group fights until around the time of arenas in tbc. Before that, pvp for the majority of the player base was strictly 1v1
"If it isn't a duel then its not pvp, and if its a duel then its not pvp" (or something of the sort)

It wasn't popular to think of things that were helpful in group fights, and instead people stressed so much about 1v1s that wotf became the single most over rated racial of the history of wow simply because it was such an easy and devastating counter to a "percieved" as overpowered class.
I don't know, as a mage warlocks and shamans were very hard to tackle as a mage, even undergeared shamans posed a threat if they were good, but both were doable.
Shadowpriests were the real danger.
I like WOTF though for pvp in any since, 1v1 and for battlegrounds and arena.
I personally spent most of my time in battlegrounds on live because I was on a pve server.
World pvp was scarce, and dueling was just epeen swinging.
Clutch moments for locks and priests happen in the fear a lot of times though, which is why warriors and shamans would make sure to put grounding totems down asap, and save zerker rage for the second fear.
Which is why not having to worry about it at all, or being an undead warrior with 2 fear breaks was so nice in pvp.
The only thing I could imagine that might be better than fear immunity and fear break for pvp would be sheep and sap break.
Those abilities do not exist however.
I know the cow stomp is extremely helpful to healing classes who can get off a heal in it's duration, as well as for very close fights being decided in the stun, plus an extra way to interrupt casting.
That is 100% a pvp ability, totally useless in raids.
