Server Chinese Plague Problem

Ghostly wrote:? Yeah, and imagine how much problems does the existing chingchong population already generate. Endless botting and goldselling? That always requires GMs to monitor them, enforce their bans and then handle their google-translated "ban appeals". Meanwhile, Nost could just create a reservation for China's and let them do whatever there. It's in their nature. Trying to prevent them from exploiting is like trying to prevent gypsies from stealing.

Chinese are the gypsies of WoW.

It seems this is the most accessible approach for a chinese only server . Sure , many chinese will jump ship if they cant sell their gold / botting/farming makes no profit anymore , but there is no way the Nost admins ( talking : EU&US admins ) can handle the chinese userbase . They could recruit some chinese volunteers with skewed GM rights so they cant fuck shit up , but there is no way they can offer support to a chinese only server .

edit : Also , I can imagine chinese folks who are playing for the " vanilla experience " continue playing on a chinese only server . Players who want to cash in on gold / character sales would end up quitting . win / win ?

Upon this realm creation, any chinese not able to communicate properly without google translate needs to be force moved with their respective accounts and characters there.

Your posts are becoming exponentially more retarded, lol. Bonus points for thinking the chinese currency is the yen.

Farrsan is actually one of few chinese that can somewhat communicate fluently and express opinions, couldn't you get a non biased view on the serverlag and any kind of wish to perhaps recieving a chinese realm (over getting permbanned)?

Dilemma
Getting rid of everyone not being able to communicate in plain english.

or

Get rid of everyone who communicates in english.

or

Allow everyone to speak in their native tongue along with acting the fool in "public" spaces (BGs).

How
Permanent suspensions on all IPs from X.

or

Proactive community who actively reports players afk, speaking non english languages in public channels, and likewise. Will require a lot of time spent by the management on account issues.

We are not racist...
...we just prefer playing with players who actively can communicate with us (aside from other general issues).

The game was never designed for this many players playing at once. When realms got full, Blizzard locked new character creation, opened new ones with free migration available.

Of course you can think that introducing nazi rules to get rid of the undesirables will fix the issue, but obviously even IF you got rid of all the chinese players (which is completely nonrealistic because they WILL outsmart you), other people will fill up the server until it reaches critical mass again.

Clearly the server is just barely holding it together with this population (resulting in concessions having to be made like the 10 yd draw distance), and is in dire need of an upgrade before people smart moving to other servers, not wanting to deal with the lag (which is a solution in itself, if a pretty bad one).

Just a small example...

I saw stacks of Copper Bars going for 1-2g a stack most of the time, definitely no lower than 5 silver per bar.

In the past 2 days that has dropped down to 50-60s a stack.

Wool Cloth was about 40-50s a stack, and now is going for about 30-35s per stack.

This is in literally the past 72 hours, whereas the previous week everything was pretty stable according to my data.

They're smart little bastards on the auction house too, if you look at their spammed low price items, they always intentionally list a few items super high to fuck with others using Auctioneer so that people buy their stuff quicker hoping to flip and get a quick resale, not realizing the Chinese are fucking with the median.

Economy on the AH is utter shit right now. It was absolutely fine for an entire week until about Wednesday or so.

Let's be cool about this.

Server instability and no communication skills are problems. Your ability to make money off the AH is not.
Greatness, at any cost.

Trashing people because you can't understand them, only showcases your own ignorance.

My take on this has been pretty simple since the server got released:
Cap the servers @5k Population, open up another PvP Server(on the same timeline) with a transfer option.
- Make Battlegrounds Crossserver (and fix it to Blizzlike w/o Multiq)

Nostalrius Managament has stated (see recent AMA) that the massive population shouldn't be detrimental to the game experience. I say: Noble intent, but far away from reality.
Especially as a PvP player the server is absolutely horrific during peak times.
- which is almost 24/7 - because the server severly cuts down in performance with >5000 players online.

We all love the massive population here, because a MMO is kept alive by it.
However the numbers that we have now simply can't be supported in the current state of the server.
This has been the issue for me since the day the server got released.
I keep playing here, because my friends play here, certainly not for the quality that I have been getting.
PvP on Nostalrius is tremendously cancerous compared to what i've seen on other projects.

Since they haven't adressed the topic yet I expect Nostalrius will choose another option than my (relatively easy to do) take on it:

What we will see in the future is much more zoning, to keep performance on a playable level. (From a devs PoV this is a nightmare) Vanilla (Mangos) isn't capsuled well in that regards.
It's not a fun job hence I don't see anyone doing it efficiently w/o getting a good payment for it.
I don't know how much Nostalrius can improve in terms of hardware, but I'm guessing the next hardware upgrade will be a costy one too.

All that aside, my only request from the Nostalrius team right now is this:
Acknowledge the state of the server and tell us where you plan to take it, even if it takes another round of donations.

I love how that dude just discovered that prices of goods fluctuate (shocking - after all he always pays the same amount when buying candy with his lunch money) and immediately blames it on the chinese.

Possibly the first reasonable post in this thread. As for the hardware upgrade, thankfully we got heroes like Niko willing to donate 500 euros and make sure everyone knows it!

^ Thing is forum moderators do not want to help you get any donations going, the devs however tend to monitor these threads and sometimes it feels like it's the only way to kickstart an idea. I won't play retail ever again, I'll just keep to private vanilla/tbc realms and shooters. Hopefully Nostalrius is around for a good while longer, but as it's looking now it's more of frustration that fun to do any wpvp/pvp. Which naturally, lead to less game time and I think this thing is server wide. I know alot of people who already quit or quit half way to high end content due to the delay and overpopulation.
