Vanillacoke wrote:Anyone who disagrees with the original suggestion to add LoS to the trees in WSG clearly has zero idea of how PvP works.
Adding LoS to the midfield will make the skillcap higher and let people interract more with the enviroment and thus be able to outplay/outsmart other players and even out gear differences. (This has been said in the thread, but needs to be said again.)
If there is no LoS, then it will be promoting all kinds of shit setups, playing with 4 healers and a tank just walking slowly across mid, because there is no reason to play smart, just PvE with healer assignments and you're fine.
There will be no need to jump behind LoS to juke that mage trying to sheep you, because he will just get that sheep through the tree anyways, so even if you are a much better player than him, you cannot do anything to outplay him. (Yes, skull, scorpid surprise, getting dispells but you get my point) So you might aswell just stand out in the open and hope no one decides to cc you...
Or if we take a poorly geared druid for example, you're in mid with low to no support with 2-3 enemies training you, if you don't do anything very soon you are dead. A mage starts casting on you and he's standing next to the tree -> Quickly feral charge him, into travel form and go around the tree, losing everyone on you, making them not able to follow you.. This is very basic stuff, which anyone who has any kind of idea how PvP works would know, but clearly people in this thread don't.
Without LoS, that shitty warlock will do a 30yrd coil through the tree when your reflector is on cd and you die. Yeah very nice, very outskilled...
Devs, this is a no-brainer, just make the Trees break LoS. Please.
Oh, and I play hunter, so don't even think about any of that "hurr only melee are crying" shit..

Flash wrote:The difference between the other "custom" changes that Nostalrius has, for example pre 1.4 gear & old AV is that they have all existed on retail and in vanilla. Which in my opinion allows them to still classify it as blizzlike.
This however has never existed in vanilla or ever on retail which makes it a 100% custom feature.
It can be compared with wanting to add a fatigue feature because "Lol, how can your character run all the time without getting tired? That's not realistic wtf".
This should have clarified things.
