Nostalrius Begins - Quality wow vanilla realm (1.12)

My internet connection is fairly reliable but maybe once or twice an hour I will get a .5 second hiccup/disconnect randomly. It normally isn't a problem if I am playing any other game, or in mumble/ventrilo, it just seems like really tiny lag spike and then everything catches back up. But if I am playing WoW and in a battleground, at any random point I can be instantly kicked and given a deserter debuff for 15 minutes, even though my ISP crapped out for a fraction of a second.

Is there any way to implement a tiny grace period to allow people to reconnect? I know it might not be possible, or so simple but even a 10 second reconnect window or anything would greatly help. I forgot how incredibly lame it is to have all the action abruptly end, and then have to sit there for 15 minutes and wait it out. It is a gigantic buzz kill and no other aspect of the game is effected so greatly by this tiny error.

Same thing happens to me.. except some times when i go LD i can be gone for 3~ minutes and come back without getting kicked, while other times i get kicked after only being LD for less than 2 seconds.

same happens to me aswell. If you logout this way it recognizes you as someone who /camped out, so you get kicked out of any party and battleground group. When i was playing on any other server it always just disconnected me and when i logged back in, i was still in my group.
instead of reconnect timer would be nice to make script preventing you from being kicked out of the group.

there was a period of time where you could leave battlegrounds and avoid deserter by logging out and waiting around 10 seconds before logging back in. you'd be back in battlemaster room with no deserter debuff. this was fixed fairly recently. i guarantee you any sort of "grace period" will be abused to no end, even if it is for returning to the battleground from a dc, not being sent back to battlemaster room.

that being said, i can still get dced while in a battleground and usually manage to log back in and still be in the game. sometimes you get bad luck and an unwarranted deserter, but that's it man. this busted ass 10 year old matchmaking is far from ideal, don't get me wrong, but i don't think any corrective action is required for this issue.

That "sometimes" is invalid, since it happens always. I've never seen myself not getting deserter after DC and im getting DCed quite often sometimes. Maybe the way your character goes offline matters. In my case it's because of few seconds connection bypas caused by an hardware issue on my usb wifi adapter, when i alt+f4 for awhile, anything like that is not happening.
Maybe for you it does not really matter if something gets changed or not but actually i'm looking for another server/hobby because whenever i get in an more competitive game that lasts 30 min+, i never get to finish it because of this.
Why just you cannot be offline in bg group for 2 minutes till you get kicked out with deserter like you do when you alt+f4?? How does it improve a server quality if you get kicked instantly when you get dc? and then why don't you get kicked out when you alt+f4? just wondering, because it seems to me like it's being made purely to rip off people with connection stability issues.

Fix queue system so raid premades can choose/dodge as they wish to farm pugs. Lazy 'fix' indeed.

and why it cannot be like on all other servers i have ever played on? I mean when you get dc or you logout, then you still presist in game till you get afked out afrer 2 min time period of being offline (with deserter debuff ofc). I'm not asking to remove deserter buff but to increase time period before i get kicked out of bg.
