Weird Rank Updates

Alright so last week i went from rank 4 80% to rank 5 99% with 4k honor. that seemed weird to me. But this weeks update i had standing 222 and 145k honor. And i only went from rank 5 99% to rank 6 30%? isnt that way to low considering the population on this server?

It's due to the release of Alterac Valley and easy honour gains. In the pvp rank system your honour gain is compared to the rest of the server's population, and rank gains are handed out accordingly.

I had standing 222 last week. Which mean it shouldnt be affected by this weeks AV update. The weird thing here is that i gained over 100% rank update with 4k honor 2 weeks ago. Bur only about 30% last week with over 140k honor and 222 standing

I'm not an expert, but from what I understand, your total honor only impacts your weekly standing. Your weekly standing impacts how many rank points you get, which also takes into account the total people who ranked that week. The rank points are what you accumulate to determine your rank. Total rank points decay at a rate of 20% per week. Rank points are cumulative and don't reset when you reach a new rank.

So in your case, even though you increased honor points from 4k to 140k, it only impacts your weekly standings. A lot of people earned a ton of honor this week with the introduction of AV, so your weekly standings wouldn't increase like you might expect. Also, the more rank points you accumulate, the more that decay each week, which offsets rank points earned.
