Posted: Mon Aug 17, 2015 9:38 pmI highly doubt it's "bg queue", more likely he has another client up at the same time and just logs on to his acc when he's about to die, resulting in an instant character logout and he will disappear.

This is #1 correct. Using that client to log into the same account will immediately boot the previously online character.
