I'm thinking about rolling a shadowpriest (though probably ranking in another spec until i have the gear).

How strong is a geared (let us say rank13 gear with anathema) spriest in duels, world pvp and organized BG's?

Which classes does it outshine 1v1 and which is its counters?

What are the main weaknesses with the spec?

don't pug as holy. you will regret it. also if you are alliance there is already a shit ton of priests ranking, so you might be better off with a warlock. there are almost no warlocks to be found.

but in general shadow with good gear is really awesome as long as you stay the fuck away from shamans.

shadow is the most op shit ever with good gear
you can beat everything in 1v1 except let's say GOOD warlock, hunter if you get oom before you finish him, maybe good sham aswell (if you're ally)

True dat, Spriest is one of the most OP combination in PvP in Vanilla, end of story.

Is it a good idea to roll a dwarf priest or will the lack of devouring plague just be too much of a negative?

Stoneform negates devouring plague aswell as viper sting. Not to mention that fearward and desperate prayer are killer. Go dwarf.

Play what you want.. However if you plan on going to rank 13, don't expect to actually PvP at all.. level 60 is nothing but a bunch of premades steamrolling solo queuers and win trading with premades form the other faction...
